obtaining a real estate license

Hello
As of today, to obtain a license I need to have a secondary school diploma. Is this about to change? I am told in Oct.2019 I will need a college diploma. Is this correct?

Hi Janice,

Thank you for your questions!

If you do not have a college diploma, we highly encourage you to take the OREA admission test so you can get into the real estate licensing program before the deadline as OREA college is closing soon and education handlings will be transferred to humber college.

The deadline for admissions:

The College will continue accepting new students until the end of April 2019.

  • If you plan to submit admissions documents for The Salesperson Registration Education Program, they must be received by the OREA Real Estate College no later than April 30, 2019.
    • If you plan to schedule the Admissions Test, it must be successfully completed on, or before, April 30, 2019.
  • Admissions to The Broker Registration Education Program will not be accepted after April 30, 2019
    • If you are interested in this program you must accept the student enrolment contract on, or before, April 30, 2019.

Therefore, you can simply take the admission test and be accepted into the real estate program before April 30, 2019 and you're good to go.

If that is what you what to do simply visit:

https://www.orea.com/Education/Admissions/Apply

Apply for an account and follow instructions to see when you should take the admission test.

For your benefits, we have created the OREA admission test study guide to help you quickly study/pass the admission test.

You can get the FREE study guide here: https://go.realestatelicensehq.ca/optin

Once you passed the admission test you're good to go to start your real estate program.

Hope everything is clear and good luck!
